|QuestionText=Hello!<br><br>Going off of [https://kelesis.dreamwidth.org/5063.html?thread=7104455#cmt7104455 this response], I am assuming that Law's ability to separate people's body parts and all wouldn't work in helping most of the locals who have been seeded, but cutting off the head directly after the seeding has happened... would? help? Since then the entire head would just be floating somewhere separate from the rest of the body, and the infection wouldn't have yet had time to spread to it. And similarly, I assume it would work on the Augmented, since the infection would avoid their brains?<br><br>And then going off of [https://kelesis.dreamwidth.org/5063.html?thread=7161799#cmt7161799 this response], if someone with the necessary medical knowledge were to perform autopsy to any of the victims killed, what would the infestation look like in the victim? What key things might they find out? And assuming that the plant monster is killed and there is enough of it left, would it be possible to perform a... plantopsy, shall we say, on it afterwards?

|AnswerText=To the first bit: yes, removing the head prior to spreading would keep it from moving to the rest of the body... but at what cost? That's their head. That's decapitation. And it would have to be done quickly: the infection pushes through the body quite fast, using the bloodstream as its vehicle.<br><br>Attempting to excise the infection from Augmented Ones would be effective, using the same metric of "act fast." Say that an Augmented One were targeted first on their leg. The leg would need to be removed. quickly; all those arteries would be quick to push the infection into the rest of le body.<br><br>To autopsy a Karterian citizen who fell victim to the plant monster's wiles, one would find a similar composition of uncomfortably <i>fleshy,</i> human interior. It would follow a more conventional human amount of organs, at least: one heart, some lungs, some other bits and bobs, but on a cellular level they have adopted some photosynthetic cells, a hybridization between the two creatures. A right plant-zombie... The resemblance between the unfortunate victims of the plant monster and the plant monster itself is stark, as if they're not so different. That's scary.<br><br>A plantopsy will be doable! Doing it where everyone can see it will be very much disapproved of if Law does it after the chaos is over, and citizens are allowed to re-enter the area. Go do that in a dark basement somewhere.
