	|QuestionText=hello, lovely mods! <br><br>i have a question regarding sam: in canon she has an undisclosed mental illness (most likely some type of psychosis/schizophrenia) that causes the darker parts of her psyche to materialize as hallucinations of her dead serial killer father, on top of her having violent urges and enjoying that violence. her struggles with it are a huge part of who she is as a character, so i was wondering if she'd have access to medication or some form of treatment. i hesitate to have her be cured since it's such a huge part of her and her personality. it's also something that could really play into shifts and corruption when it comes to her natural soul since i'm going with spectral for her.<br><br>ty in advance.

Karterian medicine is developed enough that the kinds of medications that exist on today's market for mental illness exist there, too, with the same sorts of effectiveness—which is to say, it is variable from person to person. You're free to have a medication be immensely helpful, or not at all. These treatments shouldn't be a fix-all, of course. In short, you're free to have her gain access to medication, and it's up to you how effective or not it is, though we similarly lean toward avoiding the pitfall of "she's cured now." Much more satisfying to watch a character develop with the help of other CR!<br><br>Counseling/talk therapy may be available as well, but ultimately, it won't be very effective for characters. This is so that character development takes place with other characters rather than learning CBT techniques from an unnamed NPC.
