hello mods! thank you so much for this exciting event, and i have some questions :'

since the big squid is presumably going to sustain some damage during various people fighting it, could I assume that there will be katalyth-contaminated??? bits and pieces in the area of battle?

secondly, i know it says direct contact will bring unpleasant results (not that even indirect but close proximity to it is any better), but harrow does have in her arsenal the ability to create perpetual/regenerating bone - this is obviously going to take all her energy to maintain and she is definitely going to be doing some edgy bleeding out of her pores etc with the exertion, but could she potentially contain a sample of katalyth and take it to a different location to study it?

option two to the second: if the first attempt fails then she will try to just encase it in many many layers of bones and roll it along like a snowball. will that work??

thank you so much again!

AnswerText:
That is very likely, that if bits of the squid are severed, or parts of its Katalyth-growths otherwise knocked off, that those parts would fall onto the bridge. What a hazard... good thing Harrow is there on cleanup duty.

To gather it up in bones, it would be sort of like containing it in a thick glass jar... in that it would still give off radiation, and it would still provoke feelings of distress and unhappiness to be around it, but it would be 'portable'. It would also look much cooler to be surrounded by bone. And given a long enough time in contact with it (days to weeks, so it doesn't sound like it's necessarily possible, if she has to bleed out to maintain it the whole time, but for reference's sake:) the Katalyth might attempt to... attach to it.

So both of her options would work, in that they would let her move Katalyth pieces elsewhere without directly touching it herself. It will be unpleasant but possible!

As for the bones found from Asphodel Fields, she should certainly be able to glean some details. For that one in particular, the remains were of someone in their 40s-50s, probably female, and with signs of long-term illness, something that pre-dated whatever caused it to mutate. While it was never cured of it, it was made to persist for far longer than it should have; the bones have a history of someone miserable and anxious, that was terrified of living and dying in equal measure.

addendum: because i missed the may TDM shenanigans ...

the bodies found in the asphodel fields are said to have no evidence of souls. is there anything that harrow would be able to find out from them were she try to "read" the bone remains that momo has retrieved? for example, rough age, sex, any other physiological identifiable details ...

thank you so much and sorry about how many times ive mentioned bones in these questions!
