hello mods, my special little guy is terminally ill. I tend to play a little fast and loose with the whole "how much time" thing, but it is something I'm interested in having hang over his head during his potential time in this game! Just wondering what his options might be for Staying Alive, as well as the general level of medical treatment available.

note I am more than open to shady science and unethical experiments, which is kind of His Thing. If the answer is that he'd be no longer terminal upon arrival to the game, that's okay too! Just want to make sure I handle this however you prefer. Thank you!

Hello! We're totally okay with either approach: characters can arrive with or without any existing terminal illness, as players prefer. (For anyone interested in having a terminal illness cured, it would be performed via the same technique Patho-Gen uses to source human vessels for Augmented characters who require one. What that is... surely, nothing sketchy, ha ha.)

Patho-Gen is the leading name in scientific and medical advancement. They're no stranger to the fight to cure terminal illnesses (especially from arcane radiation), and as people are wont to do, they are perpetually researching ways to cure difficult ailments and, ultimately, to prolong life. To remain Alive and Living, your character can visit any Patho-Gen medical center around the city for low-cost medical care (it's fine, you can start racking up debt immediately!). Patho-Gen doctors may start with some regular, ineffective Doctor Stuff that has probably been tried a thousand times... but too many visits later, and they may refer him to someone higher up, especially since this is one of their special <strike>test subjects</strike> Augmented Ones. What happens from there... If you're open to it, questionable science is more than on the table. Not that Patho-Gen would ever do anything wrong, ever.

I hope this helps, and feel free to get in touch some more about this matter as we move forward, for the glory of scientific advancement. π§ͺ
