the kelesis hallucination of a loved one: how long does it last? Is it a matter of being simply shaken out of it and told it's not who they think it is, or does the delusion extend past all reason into something more prolonged?

It can last as long as you'd prefer it to, but it will surely end if the character somehow leaves the city of Kelesis. It can end if the character hits their head on something too hard, or if they're slapped; it could end if they trip and fall, or if their senses are engaged with something that pulls them out of the hallucination, like a familiar or provocative smell, touch, sound, or taste. Their sight, however, is utterly useless.

Thus, being told that the person they're seeing may not be enough to snap a person out of it. It could work, but it depends on how deeply the individual is lost in the sauce. It can be an intoxicating, dreamlike hallucination; it can be something more shallow too, if the player prefers.

Short answer: it can last as long as is preferred within Kelesis (though it probably wouldn't last longer than a day); it can be as easy or as difficult as preferred to shake out of, but the best results will be from engaging any sense other than sight.
