Hello mods! Just a quick question on dual-souls and the nature of mixing and matching. (Absolutely not a priority question, feel free to come back to this at your leisure!)

If someone were to get two souls through the point system, what happens if these are naturally conflicting? So I think of the more 'alive' souls mixed the 'dead' ones (Spectral, Golem). Where does the split happen and what should players maybe be mindful of? As an example, Spectrals have a death and a loss of heartbeat. Does that still apply if the Spectral is the 2nd soul, or is it like...yes, the person dies, but their 'alive' soul kind of plays a facsimile of a heartbeat? Or if you pick a soul with a lot of emotions and then pick Golem, do these conflict?

Oooorrr am I reading too much into it and this is a "choose your own adventure" sort of situation (so long as you don't load up on a ton of powers and split things evenly)? Thank you!

It really is a choose-your-own-corruption adventure! In places where traits would contradict one another (paws versus hooves, more hair versus loss of hair, etc.), players can choose to express what they prefer. Even if one trait has already grown in, the additional Natural Soul could cause it to mutate into something different. So really, just go wild with it.

In the case of something like an Augmented Spectral, who's already undergone their death- the addition of a soul from a traditionally living entity might return them to a kind of life. Maybe they become an undead cat instead. Maybe they're one way in their everyday corrupted form, but change drastically in their Shifted form. It's up the player how they would like to merge/separate traits from their multiple soul types.

(As a note, Golem souls aren't really 'dead', in that they were never traditionally 'alive' to start with. They're their own, odd, naturally occurring mobile inorganic entity. A similar thing is true with Spectrals, who, in their native form, might never have had a heartbeat or normal signs of life in the first place. Of course, when placed inside a living character... it tends to have the effect of 'killing' them, in the process of corrupting them to be more like the Natural Soul.

Plants also don't have heartbeats, but are definitely alive, so if a player wanted to have their Terra character lose their pulse, they could do so. In most cases, it's all about doing what's most interesting.)
