| QuestionText | Wikitext | Hello! Since Lilias is finally getting to the point where she's prepared to bind a new familiar from the local wildlife, I wanted to be clear on a couple things going forward.
First, is she doing to have to sneak it into establishments in her pocket if she wants to take it inside with her? When I initially asked about familiars, I was told that service animals don't exist in Karteria, but later on I saw a reply to someone else's question that indicated they do exist, but are simply uncommon compared to service bots.
Second, will she be able to take it with her when she leaves the city's barrier? It seems like other animals are fine out there, so I'm not entirely clear on where the line is drawn wrt creatures who are vulnerable to katalyth (local humans) and the ones that are not (animals, plants, humanoid monsters like spectrals).

| AnswerText | Wikitext | Ack! A good catch. Neither of us noticed that detail slip-up re: service animals; we'd intended for it to be largely ServiTons, but things happen. Thus, service animals may now exist, though uncommon. We apologize for the miscommunication on this point.
Moving forward with this assumption that service animals may exist in small amounts: it still remains that most establishments turn their noses up at animals being indoors. Dogs are going to be the most accepted sort of service animal, and we see this following Karterian cultural custom with their handle over Controlling magics (basically just a spell they use to control beasts other than humans). We're willing to say that you're free to play with this whenever it's most fun for you to; if you'd rather she be able to bring a familiar into a place without too much hassle, then whichever Karterian is present is simply more tolerant. If you want someone to raise a stink, they can be a particularly strict sort who has a beef with Animals Indoors.
Regarding animals being able to be beyond the barrier: this is absolutely correct, in that most all animals can go beyond the barrier with fewer consequences than humans! Of course, we have a great example of what happens when animals remain in extremely close proximity with Katalyth for too long: they have a higher risk of mutating, though it's not of any sort that is lethal. Otherwise, say Lilias had a rat familiar. That rat could join her most anywhere beyond the barrier without consequence, more than any human could. Primarily, characters will find that the only sorts of creatures that are vulnerable in an injurious sense to Katalyth are: humans, and only humans. Interesting, that...
I hope that helps, and apologies again for the hiccup on details. Thank you for bringing it to our attention!
