#1 wiki | comment Topics: Edit question: edit redsoil asked on FAQ/Main FAQ at 2025-05-04 Answer date: 2025-05-07	daemon and set both have an interest in courting a relationship with karterian law enforcement! naturally, they'll be working on this over time, and likely in stages ( for worldbuilding's sake.... ), to increase the confidence and hone the skills of the native security forces. their general milestones involve: starting with a small group of volunteers willing to work with Augmented, providing tangible results with training and mission-related work ( likely domestic, bc they can't go out!! ) and building from there to prepare the domestic forces for any problems that might come their way as, you know, they start increasing the distance of explorations into the unknown. that being said, what sort of information is available about the security forces? for example: knowing that they're largely ceremonial — are they formally educated, or apprenticed/trained on-the-job? is there a particular location they use for headquarters and/or training? would set/daemon have permission to visit there, or would they need to seek a secondary location? could set/daemon even get a meeting with sir maurice basson to discuss their interest and goals at this time? oocly we're keeping the jocks busy ( similar.... ) so if the answers are simple to start with, that's fine too!	Their old training facility lay outside Karteria's current boundaries- and commandeering a new one inside the barrier has been politically fraught. The city is overcrowded, and how much training do they need when their only enemy is arcane radiation; the citizenry don't see their city as being particularly violent, or in need of much in the way of security forces (Or rather, this is the upper/middle class view. The lower classes are more apathetic, and assume they're not going to be helped.). Their headquarters lays within the heart of Gloria, and while the building had once housed mostly the bureaucratic side of things, it has now been made to house everything. They don't even have a shooting range because the idea of it alarms the locals, and the sound would be a disturbance. The stables are already drawing complaints. Most training is on-the-job, with the more experienced leading the new recruits by the arm. That said, there isn't much for them to find experience with... mostly petty crime. They don't see this as a bad thing, of course, but it has led to questioning how they might ever learn to handle something serious. With Set and Daemon both having personally introduced themselves favorably to law enforcement- they would be allowed inside their (increasingly chaotic) headquarters. Any attempt to improve their organization and training... the answer is mixed, to start with. Some are skeptical or dismissive of the Augmented as a whole; others are frustrated by the current situation and want to be better prepared for an actual crisis. So Set and Daemon could likely work their way into the system, maybe eventually becoming their own little branch of it.... Feel free to ask any other questions if you need more information!
