I have two questions for you:

1) How is someone non-binary going to be treated by society at large? I know at the time in rl history there were various ~ you must wear *3* items of clothing from your AGAB or face our wrath~~! rules around, is that a problem Rowan might run into? Is it going to be harder for them to get along with people? Is all of that true, but Rowan's going to get a pass because they're augmented? I want them to get a job and start trying to get along with the locals, so I'm looking to know what kind of obstacles they might meet (plus in the long term if they get a pass that a local wouldn't, they'll be sticking their nose in there and trying to push for more acceptance, but that's definitely long goals). (Edit: for reference, I'm not looking to play out any transphobia in general terms, I'm more trying to get a gauge on how it might affect their plans of getting on good terms with as many people as possible, and what kind of things might get in their way).

2) in the Valentina, are the shared bathrooms split by gender? Any chance of a neutral option, lol? And if not, are the showers individual cabins or are they all high school/prison style one long row of showers? This question determines whether Rowan moves out ASAP or if Patho-Gen have to remove them from their cushty new digs with a crowbar in four months :3

Hello! Here be some answers for ye.

1. There are too many horrors in our real world to want to make the setting exclusionary toward trans and non-binary people. This isn't a faithful recreation of the '20s~'30s, so gender non-conforming individuals will be welcome. (A fun fact: "Peacock" herself is trans! This is not something the setting will be derogatory about whatsoever, she is a woman and that's that.) Locals will not bat an eye toward those who are non-binary; some may even be inclined to default to they/them pronouns if in doubt, but if corrected they will seamlessly nod and adopt the pronouns in question. In short, transphobia won't be rampant in this setting: trans people exist.

2. I am inclined to say toilets are akin to individual locking unisex stalls. This is the case everywhere in Karteria: if a small business has two bathroom stalls, they are both unisex. Karterians care a lot about bathroom privacy, so Rowan may be pleased to know that at least the showers offer this: even these are a long row of individually locking stalls, in the spirit of these from a capsule hotel: one, two. Shower stalls aren't too small either, about the size seen in that picture, and they have some that are roll-in accessible for wheelchair users. There's that little area where characters can dress/undress, too.

Hope this helps!
