Back for one more on this - how quickly do they clear out the dropped character's personal items? They find where they were living (in the Valentia or otherwise) quickly and get rid of all traces of them, or do they just leave that stuff for the robomaids to gather up whenever they come by and clean? Pal mentioned he doesn't know what happened to Maria's things, and Pom's going looking for them |
That's a good Pom... looking out for his Pal. Dropped items are not actually collected all that quickly, if at all. They're supposed to be, but anything that's permitted into character hands (or that they've obtained since arrival, and Patho-Gen doesn't necessarily know about) becomes significantly harder for them to keep track of. Nor do they really want to know about every spare pair of trousers. While they would be able to know/learn where a character had been staying, in most cases (assuming they're in an above-board situation, like in the Valentia, or officially renting a place somewhere), they can be slow to actually get around to it. It can take at least a few days, if not longer- and frequently, it's only collected when the staff/owner comes to clean out the room anyway. The items sometimes end up back at Patho-Gen, but might also be shuffled off into a storage closet of the Valentia, or just... thrown out, if they don't seem to be useful. It's up to you what the final fate of Maria's things was; by default, dropped items eventually despawn (are lost in a Patho-Gen closet), but Pom could potentially trace them elsewhere. If he tried to collect them from Patho-Gen he might have some trouble, given his track record for feral behavior. But if he's polite about it, he might be permitted to have something back, as they don't really want to store a bunch of miscellany goods. Depending on how much there was, it could have all ended up in multiple places... so it's down to how much of a scavenger hunt you want for Pom. |
