Hey mods! By the end of May, Pom will have spent the better part of his two months in Karteria carefully mapping out this area here by hand, making some general notes (i.e. marking with symbols) where points of interest are! He's had to do some mapping as a hunter and turns into a pretty fast dog monster that can cover a lot of ground when he wants to, but even he's been leery about trying to go across anything mountainous, hence that border at the top. Aside from natural features, he'd mostly mark plants and rocks for himself, as well as tracks and nests/dens of certain wildlife. He's kind of trying to make himself the apex predator out there, taking anything mutated to the Science Team Field Lab while collecting and trapping things for himself, keeping tabs on the local flora and fauna population and mutations, etc.

Just checking to make sure there aren't any other points of interest he'd come across in that space that aren't listed on the Locations page! A hole to the abyss, a magic tower made of glitter, the skeleton of a gargantuan land shark, anything super obvious or that would catch his eye (or nose, rather) if it's out there. He said he'd actually help mark Katalyth deposits for the Science Team, so he's being helpful this time around, promise promise.

Edit: Oh, also! He's been doing a lot of this map-making on his lonesome, so if there are any effects from the arcane radiation that he'd have been safer from if he'd brought a friend like literally everyone has been trying to get him to do, hit me with them!

Thank you for all your efforts Pom, making the woods a safter place for everyone. There shouldn't be anything too notable in that section of map (nothing that hasn't already been mentioned here or here).

More interesting, perhaps, is that Pom has made himself into a very peculiar experiment. The Augmented are, by and large, immune to the fatal ills of arcane radiation, even if they can't survive direct contact with Katalyth itself. But what happens if an Augmented spends a considerable amount of time outside the Karterian barrier, and all on his lonesome, unbolstered by the protection of another Augmented (imprinted or otherwise)....

Bits of his corruption might take on stranger casts. Anything permanently expressed might continue to grow and twist in dimensions. Teeth splitting open to reveal more teeth, growing extra claws or fingers in places that should have neither, fur splitting into winding tendrils, etc.

His body may struggle to keep up with all this- as it may also be continuously attempting to shed all this broken, non-functioning material and regrow it properly. His corruption is refusing to settle, in any case, as it struggles to adapt to this excessive amount of arcane radiation he's battering himself with. If he takes better care of himself (i.e., spends more time with other Augmented when he's outside), it should start clearing up.

You're free to distort him as much or as little as you'd like, and if you'd like to keep his figure from veering far into twisted body horror zone, you're free to do this as well. Nonetheless, being exposed to Katalyth will expedite his Corruption, even if it doesn't cause him to exhibit extra Exciting Traits.
