There's definitely people in there, beyond the meat. And it wouldn't be unreasonable to suggest that a lot of them are not having a great time in there. It reflects a more disturbed existence, a troubled population. But it hasn't been unified into any sort of collective unconscious, or would come across as anything particularly unnatural, as of yet. Just a population of more-stressed-than-usual individuals. (Spectral-types could also have a lesser sense of some dream-disturbance going on in there.)
