Is there any sense of...plant-connection, like a kind of hivemind of plant monster seed to seeded individuals, or is it just "dead" within the seeded bodies even if it's taking time to wither?	It's not exactly a hivemind, in that the main tree can't directly 'control' the directions its seeds take, and nor do they share the same thoughts. But they are connected by the tree's underlying will all the same, which in this case is the need to grow. So it's more of a... sympathetic response, rather than a deliberate action.
