hello mods, a question re: the augmenter! the character i want to app is a special kind of human being, which is considered a long-life species in his canon. basically, their race was granted immortality by an aeon such that their bodies stop physically aging when they reach a certain age. it has side-effects such as going crazy and turning into a monster eventually, but that's something for later. the immortality granted to them is a bit tricky because their altered physiology has something more to do with regeneration. their bodies regenerate far beyond than normal humans since the ability "brings them back to their original genetic code" (someone survived decapitation when their head was reattached, lol). because of this, implants and body-altering technology are rejected by their bodies since it reverts them to their "original state". is this something that needs to be nerfed to an extent so that the augmenter can be implanted? |
Oh, the problems aeons cause.... Depending on how quickly or fiercely the character regenerates, they might have woken up during surgery- to some frazzled doctors not at all happy about this. They would be put back under (repeatedly, if necessary), but if you would like them to go through this fun Bonus Experience, it is there and available. Once the Augmenter is in place, it would work to temper that rejection in response to itself, as though having re-written the character's base self to include its presence (or simply forced itself to be... overlooked). Their native regeneration effects should otherwise should remain intact (unless you would prefer them not to be), but they would fail to eject the Augmenter once fully implanted. |
