I'm so happy the mods understand the method to the madness, but thank you for this delicious information! It's like a malignant teratoma on some mutant steroids, but I absolutely love it! I just have some quick follow-up questions as Wriothesley and his imprints get to work.
Thank you again for the lovely answer! Edited 2026-01-28 05:22 pm (local)

1. The madness could spread from Wriothesley's imprints, and onto people they touch, or are in prolonged contact with. The effect would become progressively weaker, the further away from its source, and it would be more readily treatable by their imprints. But it can spread past Wriothesley and his immediate circle! 2. It would probably take around a week for things to settle down. ~3 days for the most critical, life-saving care, with the rest of the week dedicated to keeping up with his improper healing. But if successful, after a week he shouldn't be growing anything more, nor catching those growths onto others. With some careful meaty pruning, he could look closer to himself. Some extra eyes/teeth/claws, etc. can linger for as long as you'd like. 3. From admittance to release would be 3-5 days. He would still not feel great, but he would no longer be 'contagious' or healing incorrectly. Wriothesley could stay in hospital for longer, and Patho-Gen would even recommend it, so they could keep an eye on his recovery- but they would let him leave at that point (Accompanied by PLENTY of concern/scolding over what he'd been doing! It's admirable that he was so willing to help in a crisis but they did not want him to wreck himself!). 4. That sort of help would be very useful! While the effect from imprints with those abilities might be more potent, anyone with those skills offering their assistance would be a great boon to his survival and recovery. Reducing his sensory overload is its own sort of healing- as his body would be in less of an absolute panic at itself, reacting to the stimulus by healing harder (badly). |
