Hey, mods! So, with Daemon being a weird Spectral type who is tied to the cycles of the sun instead of the moon, I was wondering if he might sense anything unusual leading up to or following the weirdness on the 21st? Adjacent to that, would it have any other effect (on abilities, mental state, etc.) beyond the usual day/night cycle stuff and the eye growths afterward? |
Daemon might end up feeling a bit itchier in the days preceding the solstice. Frustrated or restless, a vague sense of dread that's impossible to ease. It's constant, but worse during the (very long) day, yet has no definable cause or reason. Everything is terrible. Everyone is terrible. There's no escaping it. It all comes to a head on the solstice itself, when all that pent-up agitation bursts. The feelings stop. It's probably something of a relief at that point, that it's all over, even if so much else is now wrong. At least it's a concrete wrong, like everyone growing eyes, and so many Karterians blinded. If you want to go the eye-horror route, Daemon's might express more explosively- fiercely reactive to whatever is going on out there. In any case, his abilities as a Spectral will be exceptionally stronger at the solstice and around it- easy enough that he might be using them without meaning to. (This could also include his mental/emotional state- as anything invoked from being a Spectral might be in similar full-force.) It should settle back to normal within a week or so... though he may continue enjoying the long days of Summer as only a day-aspected Spectral can. |
