Physical contact isn't required for an imprint to form, though it certainly does facilitate it (and it's far, far easier for one to form accidentally through touch). Significantly more emotional connection is required for an imprint to form without contact, but it is possible. And the dreamscape yet possesses enough reality in its Augmented visitors for any emotional connections found there to be real too. It's a pity Patho-Gen would have a hard time studying this, as it's quite an interesting finding... but imprints can form in dreams too.
