Asking the question here so potential applicants can see: Does an Imprint require positive feelings towards someone? Can it be between two people antagonizing each other/beefing/hating each other? Or does it only require a connection? Looking at the FAQ: Imprinting cannot be forced. Tying two foes together will not guarantee that they will come out of it friendlier towards one another (unless they bond over a mutual dislike of the experience...). The physical contact that begins the process has to be voluntary, and both parties have to not be repulsed by it. So if two people don't like each other but are forced into some kind of cooperation necessitating mutual contact (that isn't repulsed), could something potentially still be formed? Asking because I love mess. |
We are always in support of mess.... So yes, a circumstance like that could totally lead to an imprint. Characters don't have to like one another for an imprint to form. Antagonizing can be a form of connection, an odd investment, or an interest. A brief tolerance, or recognition of necessity, or a guard being lowered just long enough... there's plenty of room for an imprint to slip in when contact is made. So long as one (or both) parties aren't repulsed by the contact, completely against it- an imprint can form. (Of course, if the players would prefer an imprint doesn't happen under similar circumstances, it can be avoided, the connection too tenuous. But it's certainly possible for the characters to end up tied together.) |
