so, plant monster pieces, could they be grafted onto a terra type? (obviously a terrible idea, but....) In the tunnels the augmented are digging under Kelesis, do they get the "cannot stay longer than a week" feeling? Tighnari will try to enforce "go home and get some rest" protocols for the volunteers so that no one is staying outside the confirmed effective barrier of Karteria too long. But some experimentation might be conducted. (Him. He will stay. In the name of science.) Edited 2025-08-17 12:30 am (local)

Grafting bits of plant monster onto yourself... please be more responsible, Terra-types. But yes, it's possible to do this, though not safely. So long as the character remained in daylight conditions, the grafted part would act as the whole tree does, and continue to grow uncontrollably. (As it is no longer a part of the host tree, there would be no emotions accompanying this growth. It would just be mindless, aimless production. It would also not zombie-fy the Augmented, as there are no seeds, no souls involved anywhere.) The character would have to act relatively quickly to re-sever anything they'd attached to themselves, before they ended up properly consumed by it. (Oddly, these grafted bits, once severed, will resume being inert, as they would not contain a root system of their own (that part being essentially supplied by the Augmented). Additionally, grafting these pieces to normal flora- not Terra-type Augmented- would not demonstrate that same unrestrained growth. It would be far more difficult for them to take, but the process would otherwise operate normally.) In the tunnels: characters will not feel that nagging sense of 'please go home'! They might feel it anyway because it's just unpleasant to be down there, but the spaces underneath Kelesis count as outside of Kelesis. You could live down there indefinitely if you could manage the logistics and were motivated to do that for some reason. |
