The tree does have blood of a sort, and the deeper one gets into its various trunks, the closer to blood it becomes. At all levels it is some hybrid with sap, with thinner branches being mostly (reddish-colored) sap, and thicker ones having a consistency closer to congealed blood. All wounds to the tree have an odd, sweetly-metallic scent.
