Any consequences if someone (Louis) tastes it? Or does it taste like maple syrup blood or something?	The sap tastes less like maple syrup and more like... the sap has a bitter, almond-ish flavor to it that isn't terribly pleasant. But it also has that metallic taste reminiscent of the blood of living creatures... Too viscous to suck by a vampire, but not a pleasant flavor. Still nutritious! No consequences besides a bolstered Nutrition. Were someone to take this compound sap-blood hybrid to a microscope, it would smack of human blood.
