Following up on this rather late, apologies! As Law has been able to 'stabilize' three people and their heads are, uh, separated from their bodies while they wait for the plantlife to die off... What would a (fairly new) Terra type be able to sense from the bodies still infected with tree/plant matter, especially once the host big tree dies? |
For these individuals whose heads are removed to avoid further infecting their bodies, their bodies themselves would be largely unremarkable: the parasitic infection exists in the skull, once they're let to live up there. Terra-types, even new ones, would be able to shed some light on the status of the parasitic plant. While alive, the Terra-type would obviously be able to tell that there is a living plant in there, only able to be removed via death. Once the plant creature dies, a Terra-type would find the 'infection' itself still living... but within a half of a day, the cause behind turning citizens into a plant-zombie begins to wither away to die. It'll continue to take some time for it to fully fade—about 3 days, give or take. The long and short of it: Terra-types could tell the living status of the plant infecting citizens, and could similarly tell that it's beginning to fade and die when the plant creature itself is dead. And while the plant creature's still living, they could similarly tell that there is no escaping the infection other than: death (though it turns out this requirement can be fulfilled through the plant creature's death, too!). |
