In light of the various dangerous monsters that have been discovered in-game so far, I have a question about weapons. Specifically, locally-acquired weapons. If a character arrived unarmed or mostly unarmed, what could they acquire through local channels? I'm assuming knives and handguns, but what about other types of weaponry? Are there hunting rifles or crossbows? Swords? Or are the unarmed augmented encouraged to just use natural soul powers and claws and such?	Sorry about the delay on this one.... Gun ownership is uncommon among the populace and closely regulated. Hunting rifles are the most common kind of gun around, as hunting was a popular sport in the past- at least for the upper classes. They can't go hunting anymore, but they still have their collections, which are generally treated responsibly. Smaller firearms do exist, but in even fewer numbers. There's a shop in Belle Ville which is the only official remaining dealer in all guns, and the purchasers are dedicated hobbyists, rather than citizens concerned with self-defense. Characters might not be explicitly barred from purchasing from them, but the shop only takes appointments, and are likely to be skeptical that any Augmented One could afford their products. (And besides, don't you all have claws and fangs?? Why do you need a weapon?) Crossbows/manual bows occupy a very small corner of the gun shop. The crossbows are largely relics, antiques that exist to be collected, rather than used, as their prior purpose in hunting has been superseded by the rifle. Other bows survive as a niche hobby. Other firearms (military-grade and style) would be restricted to military personnel only. (Although characters like Set, who have been established to be working with the military, would have an easier time getting hold of something.) (No system is perfect, and guns do slip through the cracks. Illegal dealing in it is uncommon though, and there just aren't that many guns around.) There's not much available when it comes to swords. The military have their (ceremonial) swords, and that's the largest existing 'market' for them. Apart from an even smaller niche of dedicated hobbyists, most swords produced (and there's not many) are made to live on someone's mantle. Decorative pieces. You could probably bludgeon someone with one in a pinch, but you'd be better off with almost any other option.
