hello mods! I have a question on death mechanics that I'm throwing here in case it ends up relevant to others' powers etc, I can head over to the contact page after for more specifics if it's doable. 👍 basically: if someone were to have an attempt made at resurrecting them through other means, how would that interface with the death mechanics, if it did anything? out of curiosity, would it turn out differently if they tried it while the natural soul was in control vs after subduing it? in Gregor's case it'd be because of Dante's ability to turn the clock back for their Sinners specifically, since they have to revive the crew frequently back home. Greg did just get here but we're thinking about it since, oops, you get killed frequently and you kinda just stop worrying about potentially dying so much... it's fine... it's fine. so if it would be workable we're curious about fucking around and finding out. |
Nothing wrong with a bit of healthy dying on the regular.... If Gregor's death is rewound quickly by Dante (as in, within a few minutes), it should generally operate as they're used to. As in, it will successfully bring him back, no real harm achieved beyond having died in the first place. However, each time it happens, Gregor might find that his corruption has advanced a little more- as though the stress of the experience has been recorded somewhere, and is forcing him to adapt to these clearly dangerous circumstances. Should Gregor be fully Shifted at the time, or in an altered condition where his Natural Soul is more dominant in his thoughts/body than it should be, this unwinding of death might be accompanied by a brief, foreign sense of distress and agitation- or a cold sort of rage. Not even necessarily at him, but at the concept of being cut down at all. Do this enough ('enough' is however many times you feel is adequate), and it may lead to Gregor automatically Shifting on revival, and attacking anything that might be perceived as a threat (or alternatively, as a Terra-type specifically: rooting down really hard, planting himself thoroughly, prepared to endure anything that might come at him). |
