Multiple questions.

I take Josh from post Until Dawn Remake. I mix in the movie (commonly misunderstood as a remake or sequel or prequel, but it's not), and I'm a little confused as to whether I have to wait to incorporate this. It doesn't actually offer new developments, but new facts like that his psychosis goes even deeper than we thought. Ultimately, it has multiple interpretations and they have blatantly stated that they will not tell us what is correct. Is this something I can touch at all? If I can, would I have to wait the two months, or is it okay to nod to it, since it's more about subtle facts, aka newly learned information?

He has a canon monster transformation, the wendigo. The game ends soon after this happens and it's possible to get an ending where it doesn't happen, but I prefer to say it did. Could I incorporate this somehow, or is it better to erase entirely and just let him remember? I'd like to play something where he turns into it when emotions or adrenaline run high, but I understand if that isn't allowed.

Here is information on that. As it's being possessed by another spirit that isn't related to your own at all, I want to be careful, especially because I'm not sure if ultimately having three would be too much.

He spends the game in both serotonin syndrome and withdrawal from it, as well as many things that are just permanent consequences to poor mental health treatment. Will any of this be fixed by arriving here? I can explain both the short and long term, if necessary, but I don't know if it has a blanket answer.

As he does have psychological issues and should be under treatment, would this be approached by the people in charge at all? Or would he be allowed to just do his own thing?

  • Regarding new canons and whether you have to wait: it's okay to mix a trait that theoretically already exists (such as insight into a character's existing psychosis) in with your current canonpoint, assuming the canonpoint is coming from Until Dawn Remake. When it comes to learning new facts about a character from a parallel release, like the situation you're describing, you can incorporate newly learned info about Josh straightaway unless you feel it's spoilery to the overall recent release. I hope that makes sense!

  • Re: Josh's wendigo. Characters in the game right now have kept transformations, but none of them have been via possession of another soul... As long as this separate soul is not a playable character in its own right, you could have Josh keep this soul. It will not be regulated by an Augmenter as his Natural Soul would be. However, even a transformation into this wendigo form will be altered by a Corruption. This means that if Josh gets a Glire-type Natural Soul, even transforming into a wendigo will exhibit Glire-type traits, such as rabbit/mouse ears or fur.

  • Re: psychological issues, treatment, and mental health, you are free to handle this as you prefer. Patho-Gen can provide mental health support, medical intervention, and assistance; we have a similar answer here pertaining to medication and therapy availability, and how ultimately characters should develop via character relationships rather than cognitive behavioral therapy with some random NPC.

I hope this helps, and let me know if you have any other questions.
