What is internet culture like in Karteria, aside from the Augmented-specific networks? I know the only way the Augmented really have access to the general population's posts on the internet is through the VTO app, and even then they can't interact with regular Karterians, but. Eli, despite being from a ye olde fantasy setting, is quick to learn new technologies and he is a sponge for internet stuff. So, are there memes? Lingo to pick up? Millenial tumblr vibes, zoomer tiktok vibes? Also, do the Augmented have free access to any actual computers, say at the library or something? Would the internet there also have restrictions for them in terms of what they can find or what they can post/interact with? Thank you!	A wonderful question, and we're inclined to say it's a mishmash of all of the greatest hits of existing internet culture: the classic lolcats and general cat memes, viral Vine- and Tiktok-style looping videos and trends, online vernacular that manages to introduce the most popular of all the lingo we've seen evolve... Imagine it. DeviantArt-era squee-ing and emotes existing parallel to TikTok-era yapping... I can't do internet slang. ANYWAY, characters can see a blend of it all as we know it. And then, toss in some 1920s~30s slang in there! It's all quite a mishmash A lot of this vernacular is relegated to online-only, however: in day-to-day life, most all individuals speak without shortcuts, with just a bit of 1920s~30s slang. Access to computers... interestingly, computers in Karteria are big, chunky things. Imagine DOS-style machines. Somehow, they bypassed using big ol' computers for social media's sake and went straight for handheld devices, which are what most people use for any and all of their personal computer time. Karterians think about sit-down computers as work rather than fun, and these monoliths oftentimes perform very specific, work-related functions. They may have access to databases and the like, but few computers that browse social media websites exist. People turn to their Syntrofos for that. The library may have only a few computers, but they're expected to be used for research functions, like perusing a catalogue of historical data, documents, digital files... It's an interesting leap, to have archaic, boxy computers as well as palm-sized slick devices, but this is somehow how things evolved here.
