Because I'm curious (so this is super low priority) would gold be useful for karterian tech? Gold is used irl in electronics because of its non-reactive properties, but in limited amounts because of its rarity/value | Gold does have its value in Karterian tech! It's valued in electronics (magical and otherwise) for those same properties as it is in real life. Same problems with scarcity too (even worse, over the years, as they can't exactly go out mining for it), keeping its value high. Recycling old electronics is ingrained in Karterian society- though things are generally built to last. (Planned obsolescence hadn't quite had the time to fully take hold of consumer culture before arcane radiation hit, so the quality of existing goods remains relatively high where it exists.) So basically: yes, it's useful, there's trace amounts of it in a lot of things. |
