Oh my god these are all so juicy thanks y'all 👀 i think this gives me some nice little ideas to start running with and start moving in certain directions (sorry......... I'm sure I'll be scooting over to the mod contact at some point soon with a concrete plan / trajectory for y'all) I'm sure the local crime lord won't attempt to do anything irresponsible!!! RE: The underground subway network — are there ways to find out how it has been sealed off? Are there key-holders? Hidden entrances or welded-shut areas where they could be uh... looked into? Especially for |
We trust you, Silco... The existence of the abandoned subway is no secret, and the general consensus (and the more direct consensus, if he hits on talking to someone who actually worked on it) is that some progress had been made on stations within Water's Edge and Gloria. The one in Water's Edge is the harder to get to, with multiple welded-shut doors, and warnings against trespassing, and also warning of arcane radiation (less effective a deterrent, perhaps, than all the welded-shut doors). If he does manage to burrow past all of that without getting caught, the reward is... well, it's primitive. Apart from the beginnings of a hollowed out tunnel, there's not much there. Some abandoned tools. It's also rather humid down there, and plants/fungi capable of thriving in moist, dark conditions are doing well. Gloria's station made it fairly far into development. The above-ground portion is merely boarded up and abandoned, with warnings against arcane radiation (and fines for trespassing again) serving to keep away the locals. No one really 'sees' the station these days, it's just that building no one's been in for years, gradually falling apart with no one responsible for maintaining it. The locals just walk by, a landmark to something that never happened. Once you get past all that, and into the underground... it's actually quite lovely. Something along the lines of these images, though dirtier, and more filled with trash (more abandoned tools, and general human litter, lots of dead insects and rodents). Cleaned up, it would look something like that. Though there's also some sections of tunnel that reach towards one another, the two stations never had a chance to meet. |
