Northly picked up her (non-magical) staff and is clinging to it, but I imagine it would be nabbed from her as they want her to shift rather than attack using a big lump of wood.	Alas, yes- all weapons would be temporarily confiscated from characters before entering the arena. They would be returned afterward, but you're spot on- Patho-Gen wants to see those claws (and any other sharp appendages) come out.
