If McCoy's tricorder – the white box he's waving around in the icon, a high tech medical scanner and diagnostic tool – happens to come along with him, would it work? And, if so, what might show up as hinky if he scans himself? 👀	A neat little device... The tricorder will work in the setting, but it miiiight go a little haywire (whenever convenient in a thread to do so, such as when you wish not to spoil a surprise or have characters understand something!). It can perform its regular functions well enough, to a degree: characters will read as whatever their state of health is, with the Augmenter not at all affecting its reading. Bizarre. It may acknowledge that people aren't feeling well for some very basic reasons (they all just went through surgery and whatnot, after all). Every once in a while, the device may hiccup and error out, or give a false reading of extremely poor health?! But it's just a hiccup. In short, reading oneself after showing up here will accurately portray them as whatever status their currently in, but the Augmenter will go undetected or not noted. They have had surgery, they may be undergoing fever, they may be aching or in distress... but the reason is inconclusive. It can also read as an infection or a foreign body, such as an implant—which, it is, so it's not wrong.
